Edinburgh: Printed for C. Elliott, Edinburgh; and G. Robinson, London, 1784. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Edinburgh 1784, First Edition. Size octavo, 426 pages, plus 6 page, separately paginated publisher's medical catalogue at the rear. Hard cover with black cloth spine section and gilt titles to the spine. Condition very good, the binding is in very good condition but is a modern rebind with new end-papers, title is a little dust marked, edges a little frayed and with a small piece missing from the upper outer corner, date has been hand written below the Roman numerals. Attractive copperplate hand Previous owner's name to the upper margin of dedication page "R. Jones. Surgeon" first and last few pages a little toned and dusted, a little toning and a few light handling marks to a few pages in the margins else the pages are clean throughout. Previous owner's name to the upper margin of dedication page "R. Jones. Surgeon" - Robert Jones 1857-1933 renowned Orthopaedic Surgeon, founder of the British Orthopaedic Society in 1894.
