Tipped-in (glued) inside the front cover is a signed photo with information about Ace Frank Hurlbut, 9 kills + 4 damaged, winner of the DFC. Opposite that is a signed color photo of Jack Ilfrey, first P-38 Ace in the European Theater of Operations w/7.5 kills, winner of the DFC (5) + the Silver Star. Both men are mentioned in the book. Paperback book in fine cond.
Synopsis
John Stanaway has written two best-selling volumes in the Aces series both covering the exploits of the greatest Pacific fighter of them all, the P-38 Lightning. He is also an official historian of the National P-38 Pilots’ Association.
