Bound in gilt decorated leather with gilt titles present to the spine and gilt decoration present to the spine ends. Boards have wear present to the extremities of the boards (boards are scuffed and worn). Foxing is present. Previous owner's name one G Harrison (possibly a member of one of the 1st family of VA) present ot the half-title page. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. Jacques-Henri Bernardin de Saint-Pierre (also called Bernardin de St. Pierre) (19 January 1737 Le Havre – 21 January 1814 Éragny, Val-d'Oise) was a French writer and botanist. He is best known for his 1788 novel Paul et Virginie, now largely forgotten, but in the 19th century a very popular children's book. E-130; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 217 pages .
