Disbound, offered as a collection of plates. Includes all 28 bird plates from the 12-volume Pacific Railroad Survey. (The plates were originally distributed over the three Zoology volumes of the survey, but were collected here at an early date.) Also present is the complete text of "Report upon birds collected on the survey" by A.L. Heermann. The fine plates are not signed, but artists on the expedition included Thomas Sinclair, Amiel W. Whipple, A.O.P. Nicholson, John Cassin, and others.
