Within the book there are numerous black and white photographs and maps. Illustrated front cover, showing a map of Australia and its northern environs, with a knife embedded in Papua New Guinea, with blue coloured background. 1/4 blue coloured backstrip with pale blue coloured titles. 3/4 illustrated paperback covers with red and light blue coloured titles to the front panel. "The chief purpose of this book is to place in truer perspective this power and quality of the achievements of Australia's fighting men in the Battle for Australia."  from the rear panel blurb. Creasing to the book corners; noticeable rubbing of the book edges and lighter rubbing of the panels. A little chipping to the backstrip edges with tanning of the text book edges and pages.
