Author listed as chief packer for the army's Quartermaster Corps, the last of the old-time packers who grew up with the pack service under Gen. George Crook. Original World War I manual on pack mules. Minor wear on corners and base of spine.Stated original 1917 edition bound in brown cloth covers featuring titles stamped in gold, but the year is given as 1916.
