With the rare slip bound to the title page that states "The excessive zeal of the Turkish censorship sometimes even extends to the confiscation of guide-books. The traveller is therefore advised to place this volume in his pocket before crossing the Turkish frontier or entering a Turkish port".With twenty maps, fifty two plans and a panorama of Jerusalem.Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally lovely with some light fading to the head and tail of the spine. Previous owner inscription to the front free endpaper and half title page. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Very Good Indeed
