About This Item
McSweeney's, 2000. Paperback (Saddle Stitched). Very Good. Unmarked. 32 pages. Beautifully illustrated. An investigative essay exploring that author's endless efforts, mostly in vain, to improve the covers of his books, in particular their paperback incarnations. With four color pages of rare paperback covers, and an appendix of related correspondence. Nabokov's (1899-1977) first nine novels were in Russian. He then rose to international prominence as a writer of English prose. He also made serious contributions as a lepidopterist and chess composer.
