About This Item
1965. London; Curwen Prints. [1965]. Landscape large folio, 613 x 325mm; a white pictorially decorated folder printed in colours, lettered to flap in black, with a full-size photographic illustration to one side, containing 9 individual colour-printed posters on card, with text running boldly above in red and black, the whole forming an interchangeable panorama designed to be assembled in a multitude of combinations to form a variety of processions; the folder lightly soiled, dusted, and palely foxed, with small edge wear; internally all components present and in near fine condition; a rare survival. First, and sole, edition. An unusual and striking example of 1960s' graphic design. "How many ways can you use this parade? To start with you can read it and you can hang it up on the wall or lay it out on the floor and you can paste it up or cut it out or draw your own on the back with your own colours and flags and if that isn't enough you can make your own parade and march around, imitate the people and make the noises or the music or both or just cheer" (publisher's blurb). Only 2 copies located on Copac (B.L.; National Lib. of Scotland). No copies in any condition located on the commercial market at the time of cataloguing
