About This Item
London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1950. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. The interior of the book is clean and fresh, with no signatures or marks. The red covers are bright, with minor wear at tips and shoulders. The dust jacket is not price-clipped and is also in Very Good condition, with handling and one chip missing from the back panel. A very nice copy. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. Synopsis: "Although fourteen-year-old Kemp Gifford, son of the owner of the great Crown W Ranch in the Texas Panhandle, looked forward to having a companion of his own age, he had some misgivings about his city-bred cousin, Peter Hays. But Peter soon proved he was no "greener". He knew how to use his new Winchester and six-shooter to very good effect; and was as much at home on his new pony "Spots" as Kemp himself was on his pony "Shadow".
