London: William Heinemann Ltd, 1924. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. Signed by Author. A SIGNED and NUMBERED copy by George Moore, the Irish novelist, playwrite, editor and critic. His Wikipedia entry notes that George Augustus Moore (24 February 1852 â 21 January 1933) "came from a Roman Catholic landed family who lived at Moore Hall in Carra, County Mayo," and after being unsuccessful in art training in Paris as a painter, he began studies in literature, having been influenced greatly by Emile Zola (and influencing in turn, James Joyce). Light brown paper over boards, oatmeal-colored cloth-backed, some bumping to spine head and foot, a couple of dings to boards, bruised but not broken tips, rubbed gilt lettering to spine. #979 of 1280 copies thus. Frontis matter, 1-163 [1] pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
