In the publisher's dust jacket, $14.95 on front flap, chipping along back panel, shelf wear, a very good example. Signed on the half title and inscribed to veteran Time Magazine correspondent James Bell: "For Jim Bell, whose time here on the Vineyard I've enjoyed enormously - with best regards David McCullough. West Tisbury, Mass. July 11, 1977." The Path between the Seas won the National Book Award in History in 1978.
