Hardcover, Reprint 1917 (actual printing was probably in the 1930s) Grosset & Dunlap 295 pages plus eight pages of ads for other series books. Very Good, in a VG DJ. Just a touch of shelf/edge wear to blue cloth boards with black titles - corners sharp. Minor shelf/edge wear, a few closed tears and light rubbing/foxing to original ( and notoriously fragile) silver DJ - now in mylar. No previous owner markings - all pages are clean and unmarked. Red and white illustrated endpapers and red topstain. Endpapers have 2 notes from the previous owner laid in that have tanned the papers. the notes are a listing of popular songs - It's D-Lovely, Goodnight My Love, When My Dreamboat Comes Home and others. Rear inside cover has the bookstore stamp of the famous and sadly long gone Hudson's Book Store which was a part of the Hudson's Department Store of Detroit, Michigan. Rear flap of DJ lists Judy Bolton title - The Voice in the Suitcase which was printed in 1935. This is number 15 of 17 in the Patty Fairchild series. Carolyn Wells (1862-1942) was an American author and poet. She wrote more than 170 books. During the first ten years of her career, she concentrated on poetry, humor, and children's books. After 1910, she devoted herself to the mystery genre. Very respectable vintage copy in DJ. LOC SSS-10
