Fine/good. 8vo, 137 pages, green cloth, small name label on endpaper; glassine dj torn, in the repaired publisher's box (lacking one edge panel) Copy no. 149 of 322 copies, signed by Alvord on the title-page, and by its "sponsor", Harold "Pick" Pickering, at the end of his letter. 98 pages on Paul, the remainder on the North Woods. The first state, of 322 copies signed on the title. [. Siegel 81; Frazier A1]. Nine charming full-page plates by Alvord, with a number of humourous black-and-white sketches. Laid in in a memo from the original owner of the book explaining that Alvord was the brother of her friend, Charlotte. Alvord was a commercial artist in Superior, Wisconsin, and told these stories at the Happy Home Club there.
