(minor creasing, edgewear, couple minor closed tears, minor soiling to fore-edges), still VG/VG- copy, w/ former ownership stamp on ffep. First edition, stated, of this biography of the wickedest, most fascinating, and most beguiling of the Bonapartes. Pauline Bonaparte initially married General LeClerc who fought against Toussaint L’Ouverture in Haiti, later married Prince Borghese, and was immortalized in the statue by Canova.
