About This Item
New York: John Wiley & Sons, 1881. Art critic John Ruskin (1819-1900) was one of the leading polymaths of the Victorian era, also writing frequently on social issues. This lovely book was "Compiled and Arranged by Mrs. Louisa C. Tuthill" and is a Very Good Plus copy. Later Printing of the First Edition. Tan cloth decorative binding, indstamped and filled with black and gilt. Clean text, still bright; 247 pages. Mildly bumped, a bit rubbed at the foot of the spine. Light soil to the covers. There is a small contemporary library sticker on the front paste-down. Uncommon, and not often seen in such nice condition; Quercus speculates that it was not checked out much by those young ladies for which it was intended! No dustjacket. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Later Printing.. Decorative Cloth. Near Fine/No Jacket.
