Ole Edvart Rølvaag [1876-1931) was a Norwegian-American novelist and professor who became well known for his writings regarding the Norwegian American immigrant experience. Ole Rolvaag is most frequently associated with Giants in the Earth, his award-winning, epic novel of Norwegian immigrant homesteaders in Dakota Territory. Peder Victorious, the sequel novel, continues the saga of the Norwegian settlers in the Dakotas, the "vikings of the prairie.. Small 8vo., cloth & brown boards in dust jacket; 352 pages. In the original glassine dust jacket cover (not shown). Translated from the Norwegian.. Very Good (minor discoloration bottom of rear cover & little bumping top of spine; contents clean & tight); little wear & soil (few small tears internally repaired with clear, archival tape) d/j.
