Extremities worn, some loss to foot of spine. Marbled endpapers, contemporary book-label of the Chez Bouvat Library, St. Petersburg to FEP, loss to gutter of front blank fly-leaf, contemporary inked ownership inscription to half-title, slight paper-flaw to border of one plate, twentieth-century Russian library stamp/label to rear blank fly-leaf, occasional light spotting. The first edition of French dramatist and poet Antoine-Marin Lemierre's (1733-1793) verse on the art of painting, derived from a Latin poem by Francois-Marie de Marsy (1714-1763). . First edition. Quarto.
