George G. Harrap & Company Ltd, London, 1953. Reprint. Hardcover (illustrated Board). Good Condition/Poor. Illustrator: Marjorie Torrey. This the illustrations of the end pages, the coloured plates and the black-and-white drawings within the text have all been created by the author. 1/4 green coloured cloth covered back strip with gilt coloured titles. 3/4 illustrated boards with yellow coloured titles. Colour illustrated dustwrapper, same illustration as for underlying boards, with yellow coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. The adventures of a small girl who went to stay with her aunt for the summer, and how after a rocky start she made many friends  including her aunt. First published in 1948 in Britain. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with bumping of the book corners  the underlying board is visible. Light tanning and faint foxing of the text block edges. Some sunning of the panels with offset tanning and foxing of the end pages. A few foxing spots to the pages. The dustwrapper is in awful shape  please see photograph. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and the top inch and the lower inch and 1/2 of the back strip are missing stop there is a piece missing to the top rear dustwrapper panel measuring 3" x 0.5"; but, the biggest damage is the lower quarter of the back strip is completely missing  again please see photograph. The remains of the dustwrapper are rubbed, somewhat creased, sunned and foxed. The dustwrapper edges show creasing and tears ranging in size from 0.25" to 2 inches. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
