About This Item
First edition hardcover with dust jacket, published by Harper, 1954. Memoir of the author's experiences as a teacher at the Hackberry Day School for the Walapi tribe in Northern Arizona of 1900. 271 pages, with a section of b&w photos, 6" X 8-1/2". The dust jacket is intact, though it has been price clipped. Rubbing wear to the edges, tips of the corners and head-heel of the spine panel, but no tears. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Minor spots of edge wear to the bottoms of the boards. Corners are not worn or bumped. Remains of a former owner's label on the inside front cover - fairly small label - about 1-1/2" X 3/4". No further former ownership marks besides that, no writing on the text pages. Some age tanning to the edges of the text block, nothing unusual. Binding is tight and square. Not a remainder, not a library discard. Attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
