The Hardcover Boards have Light Rubbing along the Bottom Edge but No Tears, Creases, Stains, or Other Major Damage. The Binding is Very Slightly Cocked but still Strong and Intact. The Interior is Clean and Unmarked with No Writing, Highlighting, or Underlining with the Exception of a Bookstore Stamp on the Front End Page and has occasional Light Soiling but No Tears, Creases, Stains, Mold, or Other Major Damage. The Page Edges have some Foxing to the Top Edge with Very Light Foxing to the other Edges but No Remainder Mark, Stains, or Other Major Damage.

From a combination of her memories, and her mother's letters, Adelaide Lubbock (nee Stanley) (1906-1981), the daughter of Sir Arthur Lyulph Stanley, 5th Baron Stanley of Alderley, who served as Governor of Victoria, in Melbourne, Australia from 1914 to 1919, has produced the recollections of an interesting, somewhat privileged, and diverse life. The author provides a rare insights into the private and public life of a vice-Regal household. This domestic view of life above and below stairs at government house is spiced with anecdotes about the famous people who were guests there.
