London: Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, 1868. This antique hardcover book is bound in 3/4 leather with mottled black and blue paper on covers. Cover is black with gilt-lettering clean on spine. Edge wear on spine. Browning on page edges. Raised spine ridges. Heavy edgewear, leather chipped along spine. Contains a full year of this general-interest periodical from 1868, illustrated throughout with numerous illustrations, including at least five full-page color plates and even more black-and-white plates and smaller illustrations mixed in with the text. Article topics range from science and history to fiction and children's fables, as well as everything in between. A lot of the artwork has a Christian theme. Most inner pages clean, binding tight, even with a worn front hinge. 760 pages; approx. 7"x10". . Hard Cover. Fair/No Jacket. Illus. by Drawings and Color Plates.
