Rev. Edward N. Hoare, rector of Acrise, was editor of the Dublin 'Christian Herald' as well as the author of several other books and tracts. Lieutenant General Sir Lewis Stratford Tollemache Halliday, 1870 ? 1966, was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. gilt lettering and decoration.
