NY: Macmillan, 1906. First Edition. Two volumes. 8vo, pp. 372, 385. Illustrated. Red cloth, stamped in gilt, TEG. Cover little worn, o/w a VG good tight copy, little bleeding of the red from the cover to the front blanks. Stories about the the famous actor, with many details about productions, fellow actors, etc. by the auctor of "Dracula". With numerous photographs, one of Ellen Terry by Mrs. Julia Margaret Cameron, a facsimile letter from Walt Whitman to Bram Stoker, and a photo of Bram Stoker signed in facsimile and dated 1906 as well as other numerous photos and documents. Henry Irving was perhaps the most famous Shakespearean actor of the 19th century, playing opposite Ellen Terry and Sarah Bernhardt. Bram Stoker was Irving's manager.
