About This Item

New York and Cleveland: World Publishing - Tower Books, 1970. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition. 8vo. 202 pp. Quarter-bound in red cloth on white boards; lettered in white on the spine. Light wear on the corners of the dustjacket with some rubbing on the front panel and a crease on the back panel; price clipped; faint pencil mark on the front free endpaper; no other interior markings. Illustrated with black and white plates. This includes a dropped-in copy of Rose's 1982 Fleer Baseball Card, when he was playing first base for the Phillies; and another dropped in card from 1986 Topps, celebrating the Pete Rose years with the Phillies - 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1982. It was obvious right from the start that Pete Rose was a remarkable athlete. His nickname, Charlie Hustle, was well deserved. And that's what he did for the Cincinnati Reds, the Philadelphia Phillies, and briefly, for the Montreal Expos - he hustled. Three World Series rings, two Gold Gloves, three batting titles, one Most Valuable Player Award, Rookie of the Year and 17 All-Star games - incredible highlights in an incredible career..
