About This Item
Canoga Park CA: Orirana Press, 1979. 1st Edition. Hardcover. As New. 2000 copies, this as new. Laid is a USPS postcard stamped June 5, 1967, typed and signed by Matthiessen to Harold Corbin - poet, antique collector, devotee of Frost - at Lake Forest Academy in Illinois where Corbin at the time was head of school. Matthiessen, in a five line note, thanks "Mr Corbin. for your kind letter and poems. I'm happy to have them, especially (your) wind bird poem, which I like from a literary point of view as well as because of my ornithological prejudice." Stapled to the postcard is a scrap card on which Corbin notes Matthiessen's address and the titles of the poems he sent him. Also laid-in is Orirana Press' prospectus for this title.
