Bound in the original rust color cloth, lettered in shiny gold on the spine. Usually referred to simply as PPP, this book gives remarkably detailed bibliographical descriptions for 113 important American children's books from 1827 to 1926 (as recommended by librarians and book collectors), as well as brief notes on 43 "borderline selections" from 1819 to 1929. Index. Blanck also compiled the indispensable and massive BIBLIOGRAPHY OF AMERICAN LITERATURE (in 9 volumes), which for many years has typically been shortened to "BAL" when referenced in rare book auction and dealer catalogues. .
