London: Faber and Faber Ltd., 1993. Book. Good. Hardcover. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Introduction by Sir David Attenborough. Green hardcover with title in white on spine. Condition: Good, with light shelfwear to covers and some bumping to outer corner of front and rear covers, with corresponding creasing to top corners of first and last few pages of text. Light vertical crease to front endpaper and first four pages. Edges of pages lightly browned throughout. Some light foxing to text. Binding sound, no inscriptions. Dustjacket condition: Good, with light shelfwear, more so around the outer corners of front and rear covers (corresponding to bumping to cover corners previously mentioned). Loosely inserted is a short letter from Sir Peter Scott to the author (Elspeth Huxley) dated 13th March 1988. 361pp. 44 b/w illustrations..
