About This Item
(16), 335 pp.Second Dutch of a translation into Dutch of medical recipes collected by the British physician George Bate (1608-1668), originally published as the Pharmacopoeia Bateana in 1688. Nec non arcana goddardiana & orthotonia medicorum observata ...., published posthumously in 1688 and republished in 1703. A Portuguese edition was published in 1713. An English translation under the title Pharmacopeia Bateana: or Bate's Dispensatory, was translated from the second edition of the Latin version, by William Salmon in 1694, republished in 1700, 1706, 1713 and 1720. Another Dutch edition of these two works together was published in 1762 in Hoorn. Good copy with ex-libris of J. A. Alberdingk Thym pasted on inside of front cover and ms. notation "H.J.
