Lyman Spalding headed the Committee of Publication created by the General Medical Convention meeting in Washington, D.C., January 1820. Based mainly on the Pharmacopoeia of the Massachusetts Medical Society (1808). Austin 1500; Garrison-Morton 1845; Norman 1691; Waller 1716; Shaw Shoemaker 2733.
