About This Item

London: Andre Deutsch, 1988 0233983600. First edition. Hardback. VG/G. Not price clipped. No inscriptions. One small repaired nick to intact DW, and slight water staining on one small part of the reverse of DW which is why I am not classifying it as VG, but from the outside this looks perfectly OK. This is a bright, tight copy. No fading at all of the title details on the spine of the book. 291 pages plus 16 pages of B/W photos. 6" by 9.5". As definitive and authoritative account of the life and spying career of Philby as we are ever likely to get; based on the first lengthy interviews Philby had granted shortly before his death to a Western writer. This is Knightley's second book on Philby, and it dispells many of the myths and errors then current in the Philby literature. .
