An excellent signed first edition of this popular comedy by Christopher Fry, in its unclipped dust wrapper. Christopher Fry's popular comedy play, A Phoenix Too Frequent. The first edition of 1946, signed by the author on the title page. A one-act stage comedy in blank verse, featuring the character of a torn grieving widow in Ancient Greece who longs to join her husband in the underworld, but also falls for a young soldier. Originally produced in Mercury Theatre in London, 1946, it has been adapted for television multiple times. With the unclipped dust wrapper. In the original publisher's binding over paper covered boards. Externally excellent with only minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine as well as to the extremities. Signed by the author on the title page. The dust wrapper is unclipped and very smart with minor shelf wear only and some sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Near Fine
