London, Paris & New York: Cassell, Petter, Galpin & Co, 1875. Quite fine copies, but for toning to rectos of flyleaves, text and illustrations brilliant. Five large quarto volumes. Illustrated with 65 steel engravings and many, many engravings on wood. Bound in original publisher's full black morocco with marbled endpapers and text block edges, the spines with gilt titles and gilt ornaments on and around the raised bands. The first two volumes cover the British Isles.
