London: R. Ackermann, 1821. First Edition. Hardcover. Text and plates clean with only occasional offsetting from the text to the plates. Spine edges rubbed, corners worn. Very Good. Quarto (8-1/2" x 10-1/2") bound in contemporary leather-backed cloth with leather corners, gilt rules and lettering. Illustrated with a hand-colored title page vignette and 48 hand-colored aquatint plates drawn by Fielding, and Walton during a two years residence among the lakes. One of only 850 copies printed of what is considered the greatest illustrated book on the Lake District.
