Both volumes uniform in the original dark blue blind-stamped cloth, with bright gilt titling/lettering to both spines. Some slight light 'patching' to the covers. The head/tail of the spines and the corners of the covers are 'bumped/crumpled' but have NO loss or chipping. There is a tiny (0.5cm) loss of cloth to the inner front edge of Volume 2, but Overall this a sound and attractive 2 Volume Set. Images available on Request. The page fore-edges are LIGHTLY ingrained/stained with the dust of over a century and a half. Hinges tight and secure. Plain lemon endpapers. The rear inner paper hinges are split - through to the webbing in Volume One - but NO Inscriptions or marks, APART FROM some old damp-staining to the portrait frontispiece to Volume One only. An engraved frontispiece to each volume. Most of the pages of Both volumes are uncut to the top edge (unused and unread) and Internally, apart from the light brown old damp-stains to the frontispiece of volume one, the books are Very Good, Very Clean, Tight and Bright.
