London: George Routledge & Sons Bound in grained brown morocco with gilt decorations, 5 raised bands with six panels, with lined borders, signed by J Bumpus 350 Oxford ST. 379 pp. and 14 etchings by William Strang. Light pencil notes on endpapers state this is the first edition with these illustrations. This copy with modest shelfwear, oe lightly bumped corner and quite light foxing to the first and last few leaves.Bulk of text unread.
Synopsis
The Pilgrim's Progress from This World to That Which Is to Come is a Christian allegory written by John Bunyan and published in February, 1678. It is regarded as one of the most significant works of English literature, has been translated into more than 200 languages, and has never been out of print.
