About This Item

London: The Centenary Press, 1947. Black title on purple cloth boards which are very clean and unmarked with no wear. Internally there is a touch of light foxing to top edge else very clean, tight and unmarked. A near Fine copy. Dustjacket has minimal wear to edges. Sixth impression (first was 1930). Canon Mackay sends an English family of to-day on 'Pilgrim's Progress' - he shows how Greatheart, Faithful, Apollyon, the saints, the sinners and the monsters of Bunyan's great book, walk in modern England. Another example of Canon Mackay's conspicuous gift for vivid portraiture and for blending past with present. R5. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
