About This Item
Unicorn Press, Santa Barbara., 1971. First edition. Octavo. pp [24]. Boards. A poem illustrated with photos of drawings by a child, presumably by Pili on her wall. Out of a total edition of 750 this is one of 200 hardbound. The colophon states that these were bound in cloth but this appears not to have been the case.Presentation copy from the author, inscribed by him on the first blank: ''For Harry Ford in the house of poetry. Yours again, Phil Levine''. The recipient is the legendary poetry editor at Knopf; Levine was among his stable of leading American poets. An article in The New York Times quotes Levine as saying, ''working with Harry was better than I could ever imagine working with an editor could be''. In the same article John Updike, also at Knopf, calls Ford ''a perfect knight of the print world''.Head of spine slightly bumped. Near fine.
