About This Item

N. Y.: Hal Leonard Books. Fine/Fine Dust Jacket. 2008. Second Edition (First US Publication). Large Hard Cover. 9781423445593 A FINE LARGE HARDCOVER IN FINE DUST JACKET. A rare and unique copy - on the inside front endpaper is a pastedown label stating "Sample Book", with information on the binding, paper, text stock, etc. - It is apparently a sample copy sent out from printer to publisher before the printing run. It is THE COMPLETE BOOK, FIRST US PUBLICATION, which was a revised and expanded second edition, after an original, and limited publication in London in 2007. It is complete as published by Hal Leonard Books in New York in 2008. Note: this is not like the old Salesman samples, which were partial sample books sent to Salesmen, but a complete copy of the book, a sample sent for approval before the press run; except for the label in front it is a Fine Large Hardcover volume (approx. 11" high by 9" wide) in Fine Dust Jacket. 160 total pages, illustrated on almost every page with photographs of PINK FLOYD guitars and musicians, mostly in full color. In addition there are full color endpapers. The front cover, back cover, rear, and title page images are full color reproductions of original photographic/art concepts by Storm Thorgerson and Dan Abbott at StormStudios, London. Text is by David Taylor, who was long-term guitar technician, studio manager and production director for Pink Floyd's DAVID GILMOUR. He takes a detailed look at one of Rock's most iconic instruments in an accessible and rewarding book written for Pink Floyd fans, and featuring over 250 illustrations (130 previousley unpublished). RARE ,/ MUSIC. .
