Unpublished typed manuscript printed single side bound in blue buckram with gilt spine titles and gilt titles to the upper board. Bibliography, footnotes, etc. Information on the early days of the USAF.

On July 28, 1934 he participated in the Explorer I Stratospheric Balloon Fight which reached and altitute of 60,613 fee before he had to bail out due to safety concerns.

In 1935 he and Albert William Stevens won the Mackay Trophy, the Harmon Trophy and the National Geographic Society Hubbard Medal[4][5] when they set a record of 72,395 feet in their balloon Explorer II.[2][3]

Anderson received the Distinguished Flying Cross twice, one for each of the two Explorer flights.
