(1879) no c.r. date, engraved frtspc. port., preface, 434pp., no book advertisements, dark green endpapers, decorative pictorial embossed olive green cloth with gilt title panel on upper board and spine. Slight cover wear, interior clean and bright, no foxing, no names, no writing, corners sharp.

An appropriate supplement to her previous work "Women of the American Revolution." Biographical histories of 59 women and authors journal. Most of these histories relate to early American Indian massacres and captivities in Kentucky and Virginia.
