About This Item
New York: Random House, 1944. Hardcover without dust jacket, undated Second Printing (probably 1944/45), 302 pages including several maps, plus larger map over both endpapers; light to moderate shelf wear to cover edges, corners and spine ends, but gently used, tight in binding, ugly bookplate obscuring part of the front endpaper map and some unknown damage obscuring a portion of the back endpaper map (between the two, tha map is readable), text pages clean and unmarked except for scattered light foxing due to cheap wartime paper. See also our listings for James Sidney Lucas's War in the Desert: The Eighth Army at El Alamein, and for Paul Addison's Time to Kill: The Soldier's Experience of War in the West, 1939-1945, and for the big picture, Monty, 3-Volume Set: The Making of a General 1887-1942; Master of the Battlefield, Monty's War Years 1942-1944; The Field-Marshal 1944-1976 [Bernard Law Montgomery of Alamein]..
