The town of Winchester Virginia changed hands more times during the Civil War more than any other town (seventy-two) and was witness to scores of battles, skimishes, and raids. Winchester was a thriving business community prior to the war, and all the area's major roads and railroads converged on the town, making it a military target for both sides. Book is Fine; clean, tight, unmarked. Not a remainder or ex library. Dust Jacket has been clipped, but has excellent even color and has been covered with a mylar sleeve. No tears or nicks. 208 pp. Contains bibliography, notes, index, map, and an Appendice: Brief Biographical Sketches of Selected Winchester Civilians and Diarists.
