About This Item

Albuquerque: The University of New Mexico Press, 1940., 1940. First edition. First edition. Quarto. Maroon cloth, titles stamped in gilt on front cover and spine, xv [blank], 232 pp., preface, introduction, footnotes, bibliography, index. Volume XI of the Coronado Cuarto Centennial Publications, 1540-1940. The experiences of the frontiersmen during these turbulent times are told poignantly in their own words, ably translated and annotated by Professor Thomas. Virtually all of the documents and reports included in this volume appeared here in print for the first time. Fine, untrimmed copy in dust jacket, with a small chip to spine ends, a 2 1/4" x 1" chip to top edge of rear cover panel, and light wear to the extremities, else a very good copy.
