New York: The Century Company, 1917. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/very good. Octavo; pp; (vi), (2), 3-303, index; more that 150 illustrations; decorated khaki cloth in a dust jacket; Former owner's name "Erastus Henry Hewitt, April 1917" on the free fly leaf. Jacket chipped. Schools of the Soldier, Squad, and Company. Attack & Defense. TR and Gen. Wood fought for these "camps" as they knew the inevitabily of American entry into WWI. As it was, when the US did go "over there" they were terribly ill prepared in terms of training and material. TR's sons attended Plattsburg. The first edition in jacket, quite scarce.
