London: Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, 1833. Poster. Very Good. 1 playbill (34 x 42 cm.) Light green paper printed in black by S. G. Fairbrother. The performance featured Edmund Kean as Shylock in Merchant of Venice in one of his last performances. On March 25, 1833, he collapsed during a performance of Othello at Covent Garden; he died on May 15, 1833. The performance advertised here also included Clarkson Stanfield's celebrated views in Venice, and the Sleeping Beauty ballet featuring Pauline Duvernay. In Very Good Condition: one vertical fold; light creasing at corners; minor chipping at upper edge.
