About This Item
NY: Holt Rinehart Winston, 1966. Bound in black, red and white glossy boards in a matching dust jacket. This is the first edition of the Holt, Rinehart Winston "new edition". The only flaws are one blindstamp to the bottom of the title page and a matching blindstamp to the last page. Some crinkling to the last page. Overall, the book and dust jacket appear never read (could it be there were no Vonnegut fans in a high school)? The original printing was done by Scribner using spartan materials. 295 pp. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good +/Near Fine.
Synopsis
Player Piano, author Kurt Vonnegut's first novel, was published in 1952. It is a dystopia of automation and capitalism, describing the dereliction they cause in the quality of life. The story takes place in a near-future society that is almost totally mechanized, eliminating the need for human laborers.
