Canfield (1903-1986) was the first Dean of the Yale Drama School; his academic specialty was the dramas of the Irish Literary Renaissance; this volume covers the second wave, penned when Ireland was still part of the Commonwealth. This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition (stated "Set up and printed. Published March, 1936"). Red/orange cloth binding with ruling and titling in gilt; titling on the spine in green. Clean text;xv, 481 pages. Includes appendices. Mild bumping; top edge a bit dusty; spine has darkened. A solid copy, lacking the dustjacket.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
