Hardcover with dust jacket, published by Modern Library. Collection of eight plays; Tartuffe, Misanthrope, School For Wives, Miser, High-Brow Ladies, The Physician in Spite of Himself. From the binding style and the list of 379 titles available on the obverse of the dust jacket, this copy was published Fall 1957. 364 pages, standard 'Regular' Modern Library size of 4-7/8" X 8-1/4". The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. Jacket has a small triangular chip on the bottom edge and two poke marks on the spine panel. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Former owner's bookplate on the front paste-down page. Red cloth covered boards, with the Rockwell Kent 'Torchbearer' logo within the gold colored rectangle on the front cover, and the title and author within a black field on the spine. All lettering and design elements are intact and not rubbed or worn. Cover boards are flat, the corners are not bumped. The dark blue top-stain does not appear to be faded. No writing on the text pages. Binding is tight and square. This is not a library discard copy. The attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.
