About This Item

New York: Eclipse, 1976. Fine in an almost fine jacket. Because of its size, true collector's copies are uncommon.. First Edition. Large oblong quarto. Underrated artist book by a photographer who worked more often in commercial jobs than a fine art context. Published same year as Eggleston's Guide, this technically innovative book uses an unusual color palette set on deep blacks that prefigures the graphic digital futurism of the 1980s. Labrot's experiments conjures images not unlike the photography of Lucas Samaras. The image and color laying processes anticipates the techniques and style of computer generated digital graphics.
